Public Safety

Fayetteville’s primary governmental responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of its citizens. This is done through budgeting for appropriate police, fire and rescue and ambulance services, as well as training, equipment and compensation. Our public safety personnel do an exceptional job protecting and serving our citizens, but we must give them the proper tools to do so in an increasingly complex and challenging environment.

Yes, crime remains relatively low in Fayetteville; however, we currently have the highest crime rate of the four major cities in Northwest Arkansas, and our community continues to grow in size, population and height.
